National Touch League

From March 8th to March 10th, the South West region showcased their dedication and athleticism at the 2024 Championships.

We had seven teams representing SWQ, these included: Open Men’s, Women’s and Mixed, U20s Women, over 50s Women and two All Abilities teams (Gold and Navy). These teams brought with them not just a desire to compete, but a determination to excel and make their region proud.

Despite a condensed three-day format and the introduction of affiliates, our teams produced the best results we’ve seen for a long time! With many remarkable achievements, including our over 50s Women and All Abilities A team being crowned champions as well as our Open Men’s and U20s Women making it all the way to the grand final.  This marks a significant milestone in South West Queensland’s history.

Our other teams also produced commendable results with our Open Women finishing 2nd, Open Mixed finishing 6th and All Abilities B finishing 7th in each of their pools. For SWQ this competition was a celebration of camaraderie and a passion for sport. As we look ahead, we will remember this as a testament to our athletes’ talent and tenacity and hope to continue with our growth as a region.
